Separation of lycopene from spray-dried microcapsules was achieved on a polymeric YMC C30 column (3 mm, 250 x 4.6 mm) with MeOH (0.1% triethylamine (TEA))/t-butyl methyl ether (TBME) (1:1 v/v) at 1 mL/min and column temperature set at 33oC, whereas separation of lycopene from the b-CD complex was carried out on a monomeric C18 Novapack (4 mm, 300 x 3.9 mm) column using as mobile phase a linear gradient of MeOH (0.1% TEA)/ethyl acetate (EtOAc)/H2O from 8:1:1 to 7:3:0 (v/v) in 20 min at 1 mL/min and temperature set at 29oC.
