English teaching is a process that the teacher interacts with students. Asking and answering are the primary ways to
communicate with each other, so questioning plays a central role in English class. It urges students to think actively and
develops their creative thinking. Of course, there is not a rigid method of questioning. In this paper the author discussed
the skills of questioning and the benefit of skills of questioning in English class with some examples on the base of
analyzing some basic knowledge of questions. It will contribute to the English teachers. However, putting the skill into
practice should not be the final aim of the English teacher. They should devise questions carefully, considering the
specific situations and using them correctly in class. Finally, developing feasible and rational questioning skills and
teaching skills can meet the need of the country. As long as they do like that, our society will develop rapidly and
education will become more and more advanced.
