Background
Lung cancer is one the most common and lethal malignancies
worldwide, resulting in over one million deaths
each year [1]. Although tobacco smoking is by far the
main determinant of lung cancer, accounting for approximately
90% of the cases among men, environmental
and occupational exposures also contribute greatly,
with the estimated attributable fraction varying from 5%
to 15% [2,3].
