The importance of energy for a nation’s development cannot be overemphasized. This is because; energy is the cornerstone of economic and social development [1]. As a result of the growing worldwide concern regarding environmental impacts - particularly climate change - from the use of fossil fuels, the volatile fossil fuel market and the need for an independent energy supply to sustain economic development, there is currently a great deal of interest in renewable energy in general and biomass energy in particular.
