Mukdahan National Park is covered with dense forestry and cliffs. Some parts of the park have steep cliffs and wide rock plateaus to walk on. The most striking of these is Phu Pha Thoep, where rocks of peculiar shapes abound from the rock formation. It is believed that this area was once a dirt mountain that eventually eroded due to rain and wind. The area consists of many high mountains close to each other such as, Phu Nang Hong, Phu Thum Pra, Phu Hin Terb, Phu Mano and Phu Jongsi.
