It seems that the typology proposed by Bassand (1968) is most adequate for
considering the tourist model in the context of sustainable tourism; he offered the basis
for the creation of subsequent concepts, e.g. the one proposed by K. Przecławski. In
accordance with the latter concept, the exemplary tourist model, consistent with the
concept of sustainable tourism, is the cognitive tourist type, who is oriented on coming
in contact with nature, culture and people (1996).
