amounts (pg), which were quantified for the native grape samples,
were between 0.55 and 20.52 102 pg DNA/g grape. Gonzalez-
Salgado et al. (2009) using another set of primers, detected as
low as 0.4 pg DNA/g of artificially inoculated grape samples. In
conclusion, our results suggest that the present real time PCR assay
could be used for quantification of A. carbonarius in native white
grape samples and possibly with varieties which share similar
oenological characteristics. Further studies are required for varieties
with other color and berry sensory traits.
