Regular employees and contractors likely to work more than 12 months at the site should be placed under hearing surveillance if their daily personal noise exposures exceed 80 dB(A). Wherever possible, hearing surveillance for contractors should be provided by their own employer.
Hearing surveillance should commence within the first 3 months of exposure (to provide a baseline audiogram), and be repeated at least every 3 years1.
Hearing surveillance should be carried out in a way that protects the personal data and medical confidentiality of affected persons, and ensures compliance with the Nestlé Privacy Policy. Surveillance records for Nestlé employees should be kept for as long as the individual works for Nestlé plus 40 years.
The results of hearing surveillance should be reviewed periodically to identify and analyse any patterns or trends.
