3. Germanwings Plane Crashes in France, 150 People Feared Dead
A plane carrying 144 passengers and six crew members crashed in the French Alps Tuesday. A distress call was sent out from the flight´s crew at about 10:45 a.m.
The Airbus A320 from Lufthansa subsidiary Germanwings had been en route from Barcelona, Spain to Düsseldorf, Germany. All passengers are believed to be dead. Most of them seem to be German or Spanish.
It is still unclear what caused the crash. Germanwings released a statement, saying "Our deep sympathy goes out to the relatives and friends of the victims."
