When I visited Korea in early December 2011, I was told that Insa-dong is one of the must-visit places. I didn't really know what it was but was told that it's a very happening area. When I went to visit, I noticed there were a lot of tourist/souvenir shops. However, I had the impression that the entire street was a tourist trap. Lots of expensive souvenirs...whether they're customized stamps, wedding ducks, fans, business car cases, etc. I think the prices were multiples of what you could pay at Namdaemun. Anyways, there was a lot of good food from street vendors, and the souvenir shops were very nice to look at.
