However, grid parity is not a fixed point [12] because the price of
electricity varies intra-day and intra-hourly due to the availability of
the power demanded by the system. Also, conventional power cost
should consider the price volatility of fossil fuels for a fair comparison
with renewable technologies [13], whereas non-fuel based renewable
costs are essentially fixed once the power plant is installed and
starts-up producing energy. Moreover, renewable generating costs
vary depending on the renewable share in the power mix [14] and
the location of the renewable generation in the grid [15].
