The last leaf
Ina little district west of Washington Square the streets have run crazy and broken themselves into small strips called "places." These "places" make strange angles and curves. One Street crosses itself a time or two.
Grid Plan
Many of the neighborhood's streets are narrow and some curve at odd angles. For example, West 4th Street runs east-west across most of Manhattan, but runs north-south inGreenwich Village, causing it to intersect with West 10th, 11th, and 12th Streets before ending at West 13th Street.
From the two excerpts, There are explain about the strange and complex of the road but these obscure some charm of this neighborhood’s street.
