we have begun to address some neglected issues regarding career decision-making strategies. We examined why different career decision-making strategies relate to person–job fit and demonstrated the mediating effects of self- and environment awareness. Our findings also revealed the effects of different combinations of career decision-making strategies on awareness and fit. Finally, by targeting the study toward employed adults, we extended the context of career decision-making strategies from the selection of an academic curriculum or an occupation to the selection of a new job. We hope that the findings of this study stimulate additional theory development and research regarding the effectiveness of career decision-making strategies and the achievement of person–environment fit
