Bayesian networks are annotated directed acyclic graph that encode probabilistic relationships among nodes of interest in an uncertain reasoning problem (Pai et al., 2003). The representation describes these probabilistic relationships and includes a qualitative structure that facilitates communication between a user and a system incorporating a probabilistic model. Bayesian networks are based on the work of the mathematician and theologian Rev.
