The content filtering feature of the NetScaler helps repel malicious attacks by
comparing incoming request against rules that you configure based on HTTP
URLs or headers.
Content filtering prevents unwanted requests from reaching the protected server.
The NetScaler can either drop a suspicious request or send an error page.
You can deploy an edge NetScaler with content-level filtering to prevent users
from accessing undesired content. You can configure the rules to either send an
error message or terminate a connection when the NetScaler finds the specified
content in the HTTP headers (URL or Host header).
Content filtering uses the traffic management logic to filter HTTP Web
transaction requests according to user-defined policies.
To configure filter policies, you must use Citrix NetScaler policy engine to create
rules based on the following combinations:
