In mathematics, theorems sometimes have converses that can be proved. A converse is basically a reversal of the two parts of the statement of the original theorem.
For example, if a theorem states, “IF Condition A is satisfied, then B is true”,
then the converse of the theorem would be stated as “if B is true, then condition A WILL be satisfied”
The converse of the Pythagoras Theorem will hence be stated as
“For every three positive numbers a, b and c which satisfy the relation
a^2+b^2=c^2
there exists a right triangle with the right angle between the sides with lengths a and b”
