The cultural cycle had a significant effect on the plant water and
nutrient requirements (Table 6):
the summer-spring crop displayed
a higher water and nutrient uptake than the autumn-spring one.
The absorption of all macronutrients (N; P; K; Ca; Mg) increased
with the increasingNSEC in both cultural cycles. However, the plant
iron uptake showed a reduction from the 1.3 to the 2.2mScm−1
EC treatment, although this micronutrient concentration was kept
constant in the four nutrient buffers (45.0mol l−1)
