The recruitment and selection processes seek to find the person most qualified to fill a job opening, and a successful search produces a highly qualified individual. In few instances, however, is that person ready to move into the position and perform its functions without additional training. Although there is a great deal of similarity in jobs and the work accomplished in the hospitality industry, the service, products, prices, levels of quality, and differences in guests mean new workers must be provided with skills particular to that job situation.
