Table 1 presents descriptive statistics and alpha (Cronbach, 1951) reliability measures (including comparison with previous studies), while Tables 2 and 3 show the correlation matrices for the entire sample among the organizational culture components (Table 2) and the dependent variables (Table 3). Higher scores on affective commitment, job satisfaction, propensity to remain with the organization, and performance represent higher levels of each variable. For performance, the sum of the eight items was used, with the regression on the overall item showing an adjusted R2 of 0.62,
comparable with the 0.55 suggested by Mahoney et al. (1965) and with other studies (e.g. 0.61 in Lau, Low, & Eggleton, 1995, and 0.50 in Chong,
