volunteer leaders routinely collect information from across shifts
and share it with each other at shift changes in order to keep information
flowing to the member agencies and collection points
where employees and volunteers may be working and back to
leadership. Key measures also are posted and discussed with employees
and volunteers. Since many volunteers serve only during
special events or for a specific activity, multiple ongoing communication
methods are used to keep them engaged and informed
(see Figure 3.1-2)
