Polythiophene (PT) was blended withmicro copper (- Cu) andnano copper (n-CuPT) bymechanicalmixing. The structure
ofthe pure PT and its compositeshas beenconfirmed by FT-IRand FT-Raman. The amorphousnature of pure PT was confirmed
by XRD. The micro and nano composites shows crystalline nature. The SEM results revealed the formation of composites after
doping with micro and nano copper particles which was confirmed by EDX results. The SEM images of the nano composite
shows more orderness due to the aggregation of particles when compared to pure PT. The particle size obtained from the XRD
for the nano composite are in consistent with the TEM results. The increase in electrical conductivity in the micro and nano
composites may be due to the formation of charge carriers. The increase in orderness may be attributed to the occurrence of
packing density, which in turn resulted in the increase in the electrical properties of the nano composites. The improvement
in the electrical conductivities of these composites is expected to enhance the application potential of the polymer.
