widely used in the large-capacity industrial drives. But the
research on this kind of system is not as explicit as 3-phase
system from published documents. The cycloconverter-fed
multiphase synchronous motors drive system is a complicated
and non-linear system. This paper proposes a new analysis
approach for analyhc study, taking the cycloconverter-fed 12-
phase synchronous motor with four Y-connected 3-phase
symmetrical windings displaced in turn by 15" as an example,
and presents the equivalent circuit model of the
cycloconverter-fed multiphase synchronous motor system for
steady-state and quasi-steady-state analysis.
