Among the participants who completed the questionnaire,
60 were assigned to the aromatherapy group and 61 to the
control group. Analyses of the participants’ characteristics
using a t test or chi-square test showed a significant intergroup
difference in the age of the child (Table 1).
We used Pearson’s correlation coefficient to determine if
the age of the child was related to state anxiety. The correlation
coefficient was 0.026 (p = 0.843). Thus, there was no
difference between the groups in terms of characteristics,
which indicates satisfactory sampling.
