Although several Phase III studies evaluated
the efficacy of synthetic cannabinoids or purified
extracts of THC/CBD in the treatment
of cancer-associated symptoms, to our knowledge,
no prospective clinical trials reporting
the efficacy of natural cannabis in cancer patients
have been published.5e8 Accordingly,
its use is not approved by regulatory agents
and is not recommended by formal guidelines.
Despite the lack of evidence or formal recommendations,
the use of cannabis is increasing
in Israel and other Western countries.
