Most studies have been
focused on negative allelopthy. Pridinium aciculiferum could interfere
with the growth of Rhodomonas lacustris through secreting a
certain substance (Rengefors and Legrand, 2001); Fischerella muscicola
produced fischerellin A(C23H36N2O2) to inhibit the growth of
some strains of microalgae (Papke et al., 1997); Peridinium gatunense
and Microcystis sp. inhibited each other through allelopathy
