Complexes 6e15 were isolated as air-stable solids soluble in
CH2Cl2 and THF but showed a tendency to decompose with chlorinated solvents upon heating. In the IR spectra of these compounds,
the n(PeC), n(PeO) and n(CeO) absorptions remain virtually
unchanged with regard to the ammonium salts of the ligands,
and only the n(PS2)s bands showa slight shift to lower ~v (~20 cm1).
Further information regarding the coordination patterns of PS2
based ligands can be assessed by the difference between the
asymmetric and symmetric n (PS2) vibrations [14]. On this basis, the
coordination behavior of the ligands in 6e15 [D~vsym/asym
85e103 cm1] can be described as anisobidentate [90e100 cm1]. A
similar behavior has been observed in organotellurium(IV) complexes
bearing dithiophosphate ligands
