Dinovaldo
The Crimson Wyvern has a long, deadly tail. Given it its tail is shaped like big sword, it is known as the Cutting Wyvern. With its remarkable leg strength, it keenly subdues its prey and delivers certain death in a flash.
The carapace of its tail is compromised of highly flammable iron, and it erupts in coils of flames when heated by friction. When the tail is covered in soot and can’t cut as well, it has been seen using it’s fangs to polish it.
Ancient Forest
A place that exists on a vast island with its own ecosystem. This ecosystem is very highly researched, though there are a number of undeveloped regions still not investigated. Primitive vegetation thrives here, and there are various monsters to observe.
A huge herbivorous species known as “Rimosetos” lives here. They are quiet and won’t actively attack hunters. Their long necks let them eat leaves and fruits from high places, and they make a distinct sound using the organ atop their head.
A few other monsters also appear here.
The Maccau is a Bird Wyvern with a bright red and green body that moves in herds. It mainly lives in the Ancient Forest and such areas, and attacks its prey using its strong legs.
The Great Maccau is the leader of a Maccau pack. It has a feather-like yellow cockscomb. When facing its prey, it leaps using its tail like a spring.
Returning Monsters
A number of monsters previously featured in Monster Hunter will return, including Zinogre, Tigrex, Rathalos, and Brachydios.
Felyne Palicoes
In Monster Hunter X, Felyne Palicoes will return as companions that assist hunters. There are a variety of support types.
There are Felyne Palicoes that will help battle large monsters or small monsters, those that lay traps, those that heal you, and so on.
A Felyne Palico might bring out a trampoline to give you some extra height, toss a Large Barrel Bomb, set pitfalls, or even rush towards monsters at full speed.
Felyne Plaza
In addition to taking your Felyne Palicoes out to battle, you can also gather them in the Felyne Plaza, where they can further flourish. If your Felyne Palicoes make good use of its facilities well, there is no doubt it will prove beneficial to hunters.
Monster Hunter X is due out for 3DS in Japan in winter 2015.
