NaCl, no chemical additions were employed for the reactivation by
Pd. It is believed that the increase in flexibility and mechanical
integrity coupled with enhanced functionality will widen the
application of the multifunctional membrane in the water filtration
and purification industry. It is expected to be effective in drinking
water treatment as well as industrial water filtration of heavy
metals. This study demonstrated the ammonia adsorption capability
of Ze/Pd composite nanofiber membrane. The effect of the
total dissolved solids (TDS), such as K, Ca, Mg and Cl present in the
water, on the performance of the membrane needs further investigation
to determine the socioeconomic feasibility in more realistic
environments.
