Women’s roles in Thailand are divided into women’s social status and political and legal status. First, Thai women’s social status before the second half of the twentieth century is estimated that being friendly, obedience and honesty to husband, and taking care of members in family. Women have no right in the public that will cause her husband loss of face which could affect the husband and wife relationship. Also, the man is not prohibiting having more than one wife while women are blamed by the society if they do. After the Second World War, women get more education and work more to support the family that is called working women. They have more legal rights but are still continue to bear child rearing and housework.
