Pteridophytes are known to disperse efficiently over a wide area (Page 1979). Studies of pteridophyte distribution report that habitat availability, rather than dispersability, may be the limiting factor for the distribution within a larger island (Guo et al. 2003) or even within a whole archipelago (Adsersen 1990). Consequently, one may expect quite an efficient dispersal of Diellia species within, or even among islands.
