3. Results and discussion
3.1. Simple distillation
The percentage of the initial quantity of aroma compounds added in the feed that was remained in the feed and recovered in the condensate of a simple distillation test, (experiments run in the apparatus of Fig. 2), when 10% and 20% by volume of the feed was evaporated, is shown in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, respectively. Aroma recovery in the condensate ranged from 58% to 71% of the initial quantity added in the feed when 10% of the feed was evaporated while about 29% of methanol and 22% of ethanol remained in the feed (Fig. 3). When 20% of the feed was evaporated, 74–80% of the aroma compounds were recovered in the condensate, while all compounds were totally stripped from the feed (Fig. 4).
