3.7. Growth of Pre-weaning Kids
The average birth weight of the kids did not differ significantly (P > 0.05) between the pelleted compound feed and soya waste groups. At 30 days, there were no between-group differences (P > 0.05) in the BW of the pre-weaning kids. However, at 30 and 90 days, the BWs were significantly (P < 0.05) higher in the soya waste group compared to those in the pelleted compound feed group. Similarly, the average daily BW gain of the kids in the soya waste group was higher (174.7 g) than that of the kids in the pelleted compound feed group (138.2 g) (Table 6).
