Benefits of Contraceptive Use These were
the positive beliefs toward contraceptive use such as
safe use at first intercourse, knowing the partner well,
and the easiness of going to a physician to obtain
contraception and use it. Four items were measured.
Control Control referred to the beliefs in having
(depending on oneself) and not having control
(relying on luck). This was measured by five items.
Barriers to Contraceptive Use These were
the negative beliefs regarding contraceptive use, which
had to do with the hindrances in planning, obtaining,
and using contraception. Six items were tested.
Interpersonal Influences of Friends These
were the beliefs about advice as well as sexual and
contraceptive behavior of friends. They were measured
by four items
