2. Chemical Resistance The Parylenes resist room temperature chemical attack and are insoluble in all organic solvents up to 150° C. Parylene C can be dissolved in chloro-napthalene at 175° C, and Parylene N is soluble at the solvent's boiling point (265° C). Both polymers are resistant to permeation by most solvents. They also are unaffected by stress-cracking agents such as Hostepal®, Igepal®, an lemon oil.
