LONDON: Four children who wanted to get out of a "boring" British beach holiday triggered a major police alert by making an SOS emergency appeal from their parents' car, reports said recently.
As they were being driven to the seaside resort of Bournemouth on the south coast, the children had the bright idea of putting a day-glo-poster in the back window of the family car which read "Help us-we have been kidnapped. Phone the police."
A motorist who spotted the notice alerted police, after trying in vain for a quarter of an hour to catch up with what he assumed to be the kidnappers' car. AFP
