Recently, branding has engaged a wider range of specialist graphic practices so that environments and products – from coasters and clocks to nightclubs and public spaces – have become vehicles for promotion. The role of the designer is to apply the corporate graphic style to situations that, in most cases, require re-thinking of an existing identity. Photoshop is an ideal tool for producing mock-ups showing products and brands in different situations. However, final artwork will usually be produced in FreeHand or Illustrator, vector-based files being more versatile foe use at a variety of scales and with printing methods adapted to different materials.
