What is liqueur?
According to the 36th picture, the result from distillation process is “Spirit”. If we add flavor, fruits, nuts, cream, sugar or sweetener, and color into spirit. The result is called “Liqueur” (according to 37th picture).
Liqueur is alcoholic beverage from distillation process which will be flavored by sugar or sweetener, cream, fruits, flavor, nuts, herbs, spices, and flowers. Liqueur is normally sweet, and not aged for long time. But there are some resting times for liqueur to let all ingredients mix together and produce completed flavors. Most liqueurs will have lower content of alcohol (15 – 30% ABV) than spirit which is normally has alcohol content of approximately 55% ABV. Serving liqueurs can be straight up (for some items), or can be used as an additional part of cocktails. The major part of cocktail is spirit.
