Case 2: The Three Sites—Up and Running
In the second case study, the three sites had already started to
use the exergames. They had applied different focuses, some on
rehabilitation and others on social aspects. The sites approached
us because they knew about our first case study and wanted some
support. This suited us well, since we wanted more opportunities
to collect data. One of the three sites was the original site in
Ockelbo that had now moved to a newly built elderly care unit
with several departments for dementia care. On their own, they
had continued to apply a PD-oriented approach and had included
as many people in the organization as possible in their exergame
development process. At the other two settings, the exergames
were in the hands of the rehabilitation personnel. We spent about
one day a week at each of the three sites in our follow-up study.
