The kidney appears to be the primary target organ for
OTA toxicity, in most food producing species, like poultry
and swine. This high susceptibility of the kidney is, at least in
part, the result of unfavorable elimination kinetics due to the
reabsorption in the kidney proximal and distal tubules thus
favoring its accumulation in the renal tissue
