Inorganic elemental compositions were obtained by X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (Philips PW 2404 X-ray fluores- cence, Netherlands). FTIR of NPH and MPH (PE-1710 FTIR) was determined to analyze the functional groups in sur- face of adsorbents. The mineralogy of the sample was charac- terized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) (Tokyo ShibauraModel ADG-01E). The pHZCP of MPH was 6.8 using equilibrium methods (data not shown).
