In this experiment, the impact of postharvest SA treatmentson the (1) GABA shunt pathway activity, GABA content and itsbiosynthesis GAD and degradation GABA-T enzymes activity, andits possible contribution to ATP providing and H2O2scavenging and(2) PLD and LOX enzymes activity coincided with unSFA/SFA ratioin anthurium cut flowers during storage at 4◦C were evaluated. Wepropose SA treatment promoted GABA degradation by increasingGABA-T activity, which alleviate the chilling damage by providingsufficient energy coincided with scavenging of H2O2in anthuriumcut flowers during storage at 4◦C. Also, higher unSFA/SFA ratioresults from lower PLD and LOX enzymes activity can be a defensemechanism for alleviation the chilling damage in anthurium cutflowers in response to SA treatment during storage at 4◦C.
