You know those yoga classes you go to where you feel super relaxed aftward—but you don't necessarily feel like you got a great workout? Lyons Denisn't one of those. "We practice power vinyasa in the Baptiste Yoga method, which is a vigorous style of yoga practiced in a hot room," says Katie Richey, an instructor at the studio. Not all of the classes have music, but the ones that do are called "power beats."
Richey says she tends to gravitate toward indie-electronic tracks for her playlists. "I like music with a strong tempo and a strong downbeat but that isn't distracting—so it's not super vocal-heavy," she says.
