Because of the allopolyploid nature of peanut that is comprised of A- and B- subgenomes, we were interested in the specifics of homoeologous gene expression associated with oil biosynthesis during seed development.
Therefore, homoeolog bias in the duplicate gene expression associated with oil biosynthesis was studied. For this purpose, we focused on the “core” oil biosynthesis pathway that contains 42 gene families from FA biosynthesis, FA elongation, FA desaturation, TAG biosynthesis and oil storage processes (Fig. 5).
