Dross for the test was sampled from a temporary
storage site in southern Taiwan. One kg of dross was
collected from each of ten 1,000-kg dross bags. The
10 collected samples were subsequently mixed and
stored in a waterproof plastic bag to be used as the test
dross. Because the dross in the site was stored for
some time, the water content in the dross had reached
equilibrium with the atmospheric humidity. The waste
hydrochloric acid pickling liquor was obtained from a
local electroplating plant.
