A team from EPFL [8] has also exposed a pedestrian navigation solution for emergency intervention that is almost self deployable. A multi-sensor system for pedestrian navigation has been presented in the research project NAVIO (pedestrian Navigation systems in combined Indoor/Outdoor environments) [9]. Dead-Reckoning sensors and satellite positioning technologies (GNSS) are combined to provide pedestrian position.
