Ship products belong to large comprehensive product list, with a complex structure, great amounts of outfit items and size information. According to the various shipyards in technology, production capabilities and product variety of ships, the knowledge base is embedded in the component model constructing standard parametric model component library to store standard parts information for the ship design process. New structural parts can be adjusted in parameters and designers can update the standard parts library whenever necessary. Standard parts characteristic parameters are stored in excel tables and other relative information of the component is saved synchronously for designers to exchange and share. So by entering appropriate values to adjust standard features dimension-driven or feature-driven goals can be achieved. The relationships between standard parts are established through publication tools in the form of design tables, formulas, checks and rules, and equations. The standard parts are saved in the form of document templates through a power copy application setup reference geometry model. In the process of application of CBR for standard parts design, it needs to choose a case with a similar design goal, appoint reference geometry and change parameters.
