1. Hearing is a passive thing. It is different from listening, which is active. You may hear someone yelling at you when youre driving your car, but you'll forget it when you get to the office. But if you're listening attentively to what he's yelling, you'll sure to remember it. You may hear your mom yelling at you but I doubt if you're listening to what she's saying--you'll forget it the moment you turn off the TV.
2. You remember memories when you see objects or images associated to it. Just like a photo album or a memory chest. When you see your picture when you were still in third grade, you'll remember the kid who bullies you. Or your first fight. Or your stinking sandwich inside your colorful lunchbox. Or the playground where you scratched your knee. Or your teacher who happens to be your silly crush.
3. It's hard to understand how it is to play jazz music unless you're a musician. It's hard for you to understand the value of money unless you're working to put food on the table. Or if you're the one paying you're credit card bills and mortgages. Or to make it more universal, It's hard for you to understand your parents until you raise your own sons and daughters. It's hard to understand the compexity of the universe unless you're a god.
