GUIDE SPEEACH
The Black House Museum (Baan Dam)
Good afternoon everyone. Welcome to Baan dam or Black House. My name
Is………….............Today I’ll be your tour guide.
We'll be here about one hour. It means that you can look around on your own if you like or you can stay with me so I can give you more information about the place. First, let’s start from the largest building. It is the museum. Here, we'll see many pieces of collections of the famous local national artist because it's the only one house that allows the tourists to visit inside. The other houses are not allowed to visit inside even though the doors are left open. We can just have a look from the outside and take photo. Inside the museum, there are wild animals such as a couple of big snakes and the birds. Those live inside the cage please do not put your finger into the cage or feed them the food because it's dangerous. After that, we'll visit the art gallery. Here, there are lots of original paintings that now are very expensive and valuable because the national artist passed away so this makes them become much more expensive and the last point, you can enjoy shopping at the souvenir shops. Now, I’m going to brief you about the history about the black house.
The Black House was built by the national artist. His name is Thawan Duchanee. He was born in 1939. He passed away since the last two years when he was 73 years old. Black is his favorite color. The houses were built for keeping 20,000 piecesof his collections from all over the world. All of them represents about the darkness. He used the animal skins and bones to indicate for sickness, senility and death. There are 42 houses nowadays. This private-owned museum and the admission fee is free and it has been looked after by his son after the national artist passed away.
Now, please follow me to the black house. I’ll show you around. If you have any questions please feel free to let me know and please keep the area clean.
