The system that leaves the wires extruding from the body is NOT good for use in children or in CCHS. Our children are active! Ray Onder's Synapse system was developed for and is usually used on parapalegics. They worked hard to get them introduced in the CCHS Network system, but we saw they would not facilitate an active lifestyle. More to the point, the Avery system has decades of experience with CCHS. I'm sorry you had that bad experience with Onder's device and glad you're getting out of it!! Good for you!! That's my opinion.
Nico was referring to the fact that with the Avery system all the hparts are under the skin and within the body. But the electronic device to control the internal pacer is something you put around your waist at night, and the antennae from the unit are taped to the areas where the internal receivers are. In the morning, you take the antenna wires off and take the pacer box off and you're not connected to anything anymore -- free to go about your life!!
