Friction Stir Welding (FSW) process is a solid state welding that has highly application numbers in various industries such as an automobile industry etc. A process principle is, firstly, a high rotating speed of the welding tool is inserted to the joint and produces the friction heat beneath the tool shoulder. Secondly, the soften materials that are directly affected by the friction heat are forced to travel around the pin. Thirdly, when the welding tool starts to move along the butt joint, the tailing edge of the tool shoulder will presses and rubs the soften materials to combine each other and produce successfully the joint. Furthermore, this paper also presents an application of FSW for welding an aluminum alloy or dissimilar materials joint.
